On Monday, June 30, 2025 the Cupertino Initiatory Degree Team met to welcome 3 new candidates into the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The evening began with a light dinner of vegetarian pasta, salad, sausage, and garlic bread. After dinner we got down to business by introducing from True Fellowship #52 Katy Crockett and Sam Sloan, and from Saratoga #428 Becky Doty, to the Initiatory degree, sometimes called the degree of “Purity”.
The candidates were asked to examine how their actions and thoughts affect the world around us and then to affirm their commitment to help the Odd Fellows promote acts of friendship to benefit all mankind going forward.
To close the meeting the Chaplain gave the final prayer, the Vice Grand led everyone in repeating the Valediction, and the Right Supporter to the Noble Grand proclaimed the lodge closed. This was followed by homemade cherry cheesecake served in the dining room.
Our next Initiatory Degree meeting will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025. Please be sure to let us know if you have any new candidates that you would like to be initiated at that time.
