The Degree of Love Held in Redwood City

The second degree was held on July 1st at Bay View 109 in Redwood City. We had 6 candidates, representing True Fellowship 52 Cupertino 70 and host lodge Bay View 109.

I’ve done a lot of degree work at this point, and I will say that the one we did July 1st was the best organized that I’ve had the pleasure of participating in. Everyone was on time. We started the meeting at 7 PM exactly (special thanks on that front goes to Mark Henry, acting Noble Grand for Bay View), and we closed the meeting a little bit before 8 o’clock, again, exactly when we expected to. Thanks to our hosts for the delicious dessert we all enjoyed after!

For those members who are going up to the cave as part of the district 107 degree team, it was an auspicious live rehearsal, largely off-book, with few mistakes. Mason Wolf presided as Noble Grand, Katy Dickinson was Vice Grand. Reprising their roles as Warden and Conductor, respectively, were Jane Beckman and Jesse Donaldson. Debra LaVergne was Past Grand, while Scott Spence did the role of Chaplain, and Debbie Wolf was Inside Guardian. In addition, Reed Sutton, Amy Zerges, Steve Koehler, Hannah Koury, and Randee Chin took roles particular to this degree.

Receiving the mysteries of the degree were Terrance Seddon, Megs O’Neil, and Alan Winston of True Fellowship 52, Helen Bobias and Pamela Johnson of Cupertino 70, and Josh Bachant of Bay View 109.
