Seven candidates received the Initiatory degree on September 29 at Cupertino Lodge #70. Joey Bennet and Sheryl Stanger travelled from Livermore, accompanied by their noble grand Jason Edgar and Carol Wahrer. From Fremont’s lodge, Mission Peak 114, candidate Alberto Garcia received his degree while Pat McLean and Sharon Vargas supported Alberto from his lodge. Margaret and Michael Brandl received their initiatory as Gerrald Williams, Reed Sutton and Steve Koury supported them from their own Bay View Lodge #109 in Redwood City. More locally, Neil Jarvis and Christine Jarvis were also welcomed into the degree as their own Paul Milleson from Saratoga Lodge #428 proudly assisted in the skit.
Many-many helpers from Cupertino 70 and True Fellowship portrayed parts in the degree play even though no members from their lodges took the degree (though two had been expected from True Fellowship). The unselfish participation from members without their own candidates made this one of the most fun events as we start the Fall season here in our beautiful Bay Area together.
