It is with profound sadness that we are announcing the passing of the Rev. Dr. Michael “Padre Mickey” Dresbach. Padre Mickey passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025 surrounded by his family, at the age of 71.
Michael was born on April 19, 1954 in Oakland, California, to Connie and Jim Dresbach. His family moved to Okinawa, Japan as missionaries when he was five years old. He was sixteen when his family moved back to San Jose, California.
He was a musician, playing guitar in rock bands in his youth and throughout his ministry. He was an important part of the punk rock scene in the bay area in the late 70s-80s. He married Mona Neimoyer on March 18, 1978 and started a family. At the end of the 1980’s, he decided to quit the band and go to seminary to become an Episcopal priest.
Michael Dresbach was a member of the Cupertino Lodge member for 40 years. His family has a long history as members of the Cupertino Odd Fellows Lodge #70.
