REDWOOD CITY – On June 20, 7 pm, Bay View Lodge #109 presented their second monthly game night, a new tradition that is sure to be a winner and an ongoing activity for the SF bay area Oddfellows community and visitors.
At the event there was a catered dinner consisting of delicious food from a local Mediterranean restaurant. People had so much fun talking and dining, while also meeting new friends and acquaintances.
After everyone was full with a warm and satisfying dinner, they proceeded to the main hall where an icebreaker game was presented by Hannah Koury and Amy Zerges in which participants were busy filling out bingo cards as they sought out answers from other people in the group. This game was followed by a team Password Game in which there were two groups of 20 people having a wonderful time. At the peak of the evening, there were probably 50 people attending altogether.
Following the group games was a time to play boardgames at various card tables around the room, such as Chinese Checkers, Pictionary, Poker, Jenga, Mancala, and others. And of course, some people enjoyed just talking and getting to know one another and that was fine too! Such fun, with a happy community spirit redolent of all Oddfellows activities.
Overall, a good time was had by all and many wanted to know when the next game night would occur. Steven Koury, the financial treasurer of Bayview, shared the benefits of Odd Fellowship and welcomed guests who were interested in joining the lodge. The guests themselves were also very generous and donated money for the evening.
The next game night is in the process of being planned in the near future. Stay tuned! Also, if any lodge has questions about putting on a similar game night, please contact Reed Sutton, and he will be more than happy to answer any questions about how to proceed.
