For the past couple of months, Mountain View 244 has been hosting a new club, led by local resident Julia Peterson. Her group is actually a book club, except that lately they’ve also taken to doing crafts together. They’re friendly and social and open to anyone, so when they asked the Mountain View Odd Fellows to let them use their space once a month, the lodge said yes.
They leave the doors open while they craft, so it’s extremely common for people to come in and check it out. I was the “chaperone” in June (a lodge member must be present in order for the group to be covered by our insurance), and saw for myself how much fun they were having, and got to answer questions about our Order. The group doesn’t have a regular date (next events are on July 12 and August 10), but you can see when it’s scheduled on the Mountain View 244 online calendar.
