Our local unit of the Ladies of the Oracle, Inanna Zuanna #9, had been dormant since the pandemic. It has revived recently at the insistence of Queen Annie Cronin, who was initiated with 9 other Queens during the Three Links Camp Festival weekend by Past Supreme Ashayhi Debra La-Vergne.
Officers were elected and installed: Great Ashayhi Debbie Wolf, Queen Ashayhi Vera Zinkl, Keeper of Traditions Debra LaVergne, Keeper of Shekels Annie Cronin, Oriental Guide Alison Holeman, Prelate Carol Wahrer, Captain of Degree Sheryl Cambron, Detector Sharla Cheney, Executioner Katrina Hazen, Guard Lana Crown and Syndic Mary-Jane Shabalin.
The next activity planned is a tea party on Saturday, August 2 at the Greenzeiger backyard in Sunnyvale. In September, Queens will go to Filoli Gardens in Woodside to see the Trolls. There will be a Moon Feast in cooperation with Xanadu Sanctorum in October or November. Near the end of the year, we will have a cocktail party and cocktail recipe exchange.
LOTO (Ladies of the Oracle, formerly Ladies of the Orient) is an organization founded by women, for women, for the purpose of creating a place for women to goof off and be themselves. Those who are interested in joining Inanna Zuanna should contact the Keeper of Traditions at debra.ella@gmail.com. Membership requirements are to be 18 years of age, and identify as female or nonbinary. Membership in a Rebekah Lodge is not required.
